Objective: To promote research activities at the Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering

  • All faculty members are encouraged to do research.
    Faculty members are encouraged to apply for seed money from funding agencies or industries relevant to their field of interest.
  • The management will consider seed money for the research projects if the proof of concept is established by the faculty.
  • Faculty members shall be permitted to attend conferences/workshops relevant to their field of research in India or Abroad with on-duty leave. The registration fee shall be reimbursed.
  • Partial financial support only is considered for the faculty members invited for keynote speaker/plenary lecture in conference/seminar, etc. if financial support is not provided by the organizers or any other funding agencies.
    Faculty members shall apply for the travel grant from the funding agencies.
  • An increment of Rs. 10,000/- per month for Engineering and Rs. 6,000/- per month for Science and Humanities may be provided by the institute for the faculty members completing Ph.D. degrees provided they have two publications in the impact factor journals/SCI/Web of Science/ Scopus.
  • An incentive of 10% of the value of funded projects will be given to the staff for meeting travel and other expenditure related to the project.
  • For every good text-book published in the relevant subjects, the authors of the book will be given an incentive of Rs.3,000/-
  • Rs.5,000/- for each paper published in any of the Anna University Annexure 1 list of Journals. In case the Journal is not as per the list, a designated committee shall ascertain the international standing of the Journal.
  • Rs.2,000/- for each paper published in any of the Scopus Indexed Journals. In case the Journal is not as per the Scopus list, a designated committee shall ascertain the international standing of the Journal.
  • A cash award of Rs.1,000/- in case of a paper presented at a Seminar/Conference at an institute of repute outside India.
  • A cash award of Rs.1,000/- in case of a paper presented at an International Seminar/Conference at an institute of repute in India.
